I was thrilled when one of my friends asked me to take “4 year old ” pictures of her gorgeous daughter, Alicia (one of Riley’s friends also!).   She let me pick the location, and I thought it would be fun to do some urban type shots.   It was chilly, but Alicia was a trooper and had so much fun playing “dress up”!   I got SO many great shots of her!  I love all the serious faces she made too!   I had a hard time deciding what to post here- so I’ve decided this will be part 1 and part 2 will be coming soon!

One of my closest and most best friends wanted me to shoot a mini session of her family for Christmas presents, as well as their Christmas card.   They are (like most of us in Greenville) East Carolina fans, so wanted to take some pictures on campus.  It was a gorgeous day and we had a great time!   Normally I will post a ton of B&W’s, but with these gorgeous Fall colors, I was loving all the greens, reds, and orange!

When Crystal contacted me about doing some maternity pictures, she told me she was 35 weeks and ready to get some pictures done before she got too big.  Pfft!   First of all, she’s got the perfect pregnancy belly and second of all, is just gorgeous! It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun.  I had the hardest time deciding which images to use on the blog….there were just so many great one’s to chose from!!   Congratulations John and Crystal!

Back in August, I was thrilled to learn that we would be doing the cover for a local magazine here called Eastern Carolina Parent.  It’s a complimentary, monthly family magazine serving Pitt and Lenior counties in Eastern North Carolina.   Some of the places it’s distributed is area schools, childcare centers, grocery stores, retail stores, and many others!   October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, so the theme of the issue was about surviving/fighting breast cancer.   I had the pleasure of photographing the lovely Pam Stokes and her daughter, Linden for the cover.  They are both gorgeous ladies (as you can see!) and Pam’s story is truly inspirational.   I encourage you all to read Pam’s story HERE. And while you are at it, check out the rest of the magazine- it’s a great publication!

I was sooooo excited when this little guy’s mom contacted me about doing some pictures of him.  First of all, she’s a fan on Facebook, so I had seen his picture and come on- how cute is he?!?   Secondly, this is a WONDERFUL age to photograph!   They are so fascinated with the world around them and aren’t quite “on the go” yet.   We had the best time.  He was a dream to photograph also, he let me photograph him for 2 full hours!    And I finally got to use my new prop (blue weathered chair) that my friend Katie gave me….thank you again Katie!   Thanks Kim and Josh, can’t wait to do it again for his 1st birthday!

Katie: Yay, glad to see you use the chair. Loving the light! Cuteness overload for sure!

Nichole Olsen: Cute cute cute!!!!!! Love the light you captured. Gorgeous work girlie.

So back in July, I had a mini session with Riley’s future husband, Noah. His Mom happens to be one of my closest and dearest friends and she wanted some new pictures of him. Especially since his 4th birthday was right around the corner. We headed downtown and every now and then, kids are SO not interested in the camera. Who am I kidding- that happens a lot! But I was able to get a few cute one’s….and Riley worked her way in as well. ;)  I promised her I’d post these on the blog and well let’s just face it, I’m not the worlds best blogger.  So there they are, fashionably late!

I just wanted to post a quick update because some GREAT things are happening to Green Olive Photography that I am super excited about!   For starters, I have had some amazing clients as of lately that I can’t wait to share on the blog.  Look for those soon!  The second thing is Green Olive Photography is doing the cover of Eastern Carolina Parent for the months of October and November!!  I could not be more thrilled!   As soon as the images are ready, I will post a shot of the cover.   With my little girl starting preschool next week, I will finally have some extra free time to work on a few projects that were sidelined for a few months.  One being my Facebook fan page!  It’s extremely neglected as you can see, but thanks to all that are fans!!   If you’d like to join, we’d love to have you!! Thanks for stopping by, more to come soon!

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing a very special little girl, Natalie, with her mom and dad.    Natalie is a “Little Hero”, which is a very special organization that I am proud to be a part of.  The Little Heroes project is a non- profit organization founded in January 2008  made up of professional photographers from all over the nation that provide their services for no charge to these Little Heroes.   I love being a apart of this group, and seeing little miracles like Natalie make it all worth it.

Okay, so I will admit that I haven’t been a good blogger lately…..but this summer has been SO BUSY!   Being home with my girl has not only been very rewarding but also given us both lots of things to do!   I’m so behind on pictures!   I have our beach trip to share, more with our visit to Katie’s and also some from Atlanta.  I had the pleasure of photographing a very special 2 year old last week for the Little Heroes Project that I want to share also.   Hopefully this week I can play catch up….in the meantime, here are a few of my girl that I was able to get while in Atlanta.   I saw this wall one day and knew I had to get some shots of her in front of it!
